Frequently Asked Questions

Body Mass Index (BMI) is the international standards recommended by the World Health Organization to determine the extent of human obesity.
BMI can be simply calculated through weight and height of a person's body.
BMI= Weight (kg) / Height^2 (m^2)
In general, the ideal BMI is 22, because, in this state, the body weight and height match perfectly.
Ideal Body weight (kg)= height (m) * height (m) * 22
To Properly consider the perfect degree of the human body and determine whether it is obesity, we should further think over the body fat ratio and other physical indicators.
Body Fat rate refers to the proportion weight accounted the whole weight, expressed as a percentage.
Body Fat Rate (%) = weight of total body fat (kg) / Body weight (kg) * 100%
Visceral Fat Index (VFI) is different between the size of visceral fat. Visceral fat index of 10, which is equivalent to 100 cm of visceral fat. Numerous health studies show that, if the visceral fat area is more than 100 cm, the number of complications will be more upward trend. Complications are due to visceral fat accumulation caused by metabolic syndrome, mainly type II diabetics, lipid metabolism disorders, hypertension, atherosclerosis, etc. The best adult visceral fat index value: Male-4; Female-3.
Total Body Water is the total amount of water content in the body that is present in tissues, bones, blood, etc expressed as a percentage of total weight. Body water is an essential part of living a healthy life. 50% of the body contains water and ensuring the right amount of water in the body is part of fluid balance. It is important to maintain our body water content because we are losing water continuously through urine, sweating, etc. Medical researchers recommend that you should drink at least 2 liters of water in a day. The average TBW% ranges for a healthy person are Female 45 to 60% Male 50 to 65%.
Muscle tissue is an important tissue and can be divided into internal organs of the smooth muscle form the visceral , myocardial constitutes the heart, skeletal muscle to promote physical exercise, the muscles, in general, we have said is that the oral skeletal muscle in the percentage of body weight, which to determine the body's muscle mass.
Muscle ratio (%) = Body weight in skeletal Muscle (kg) / body weight (kg) * 100%
Bone mineral in the human skeletal system is the mineral content in bone represented by the calcium. By detecting the bone mineral content, we can evaluate the health status of the human skeleton and evaluate weight loss, fitness, etc.
Basal Metabolic Rate is the rate of energy or calories that your body needs to complete the most basic life-sustaining functions at rest. Some of those basic functions are breathing, blood circulation, brain function, cell production, contraction of muscles, nerve function, etc. BMR is calculated through a formula called Haris-Benedict formula.
Women:
BMR = 655 + (9.6 * weight in kg) + (1.8 * height in cm) - (4.7 * age in years)
Men:
BMR = 66 + (13.7 * weight in kg) + (5 * height in cm) - (6.8 * age in years)
The BMR can help us gain, loss or maintain our body weight.
Our body Fat Mass can be divided into two types of mass includes, body fat and nonfat mass.
Body Fat: Body fat are present in the muscle tissues, under the skin, or around the organs(Visceral fat). Some of these fats are essential for our health that controls body hormone production, protect internal organs, etc. But of them are non-essential for our healthy body. If you want to lose weight, you should decrease fat mass.
Nonfat Mass: Nonfat mass consist of bone, muscle, water, organs and tissues. They are active for burning calories for producing energy, while body fat is not.
Fat Mass Index (FMI) is used to check the amount of fat weight you have compared to your height. There is a difference in BMI & FMI, that BMI considers our total weight relative to height, while FMI takes the fat portion of the total body weight.
Fat Free Mass (FFM) is composed of all the tissues in our body that are not fat (adipose) tissues. FFM includes in most of our body tissues, organs, muscles, cells, water, etc. It is necessary to improve Fat Free Mass like muscle, bones for a healthy body. It is calculated using the given formula.
Fat Free Mass (kg) = weight [kg] * (1 - (body fat [%]/ 100))
Fat Free Mass Index (FFMI) is the amount of muscle mass a person has that compared to his or her height. FFMI calculates a person's health & body condition. The formula for Fat Free Mass Index is given below.
Fat Free Mass Index (FFMI) = Fat Free Mass (kg) / Height^2 (m^2)
